Hi there,

I'm trying to import video from my somewhat old Sony camcorder. It's a DCR-TRV330. I have it hooked up via Firewire, and I can sort of import stuff into iMovie '08, but the video is all scrambled and I don't know why.

Has anyone had a similar issue (or do you actually have the same camcorder?!) and what does it mean?

Not sure if this helps, but the manual is here.

Supposedly if playback is screwed up, you may have to set the PBMODE option in the settings to "AUTO". I'd check those settings first. I would also check to see if this happens on regular 8mm tapes that you newly record. ( or digital8 new recordings for that matter )

Good luck!

Yeah, the PBMODE is already set to "AUTO", and I'm actually working with recently recorded stuff in digital8.

My only guess is that it may be a bad cable, so I'm going to go out and pick up another one and see if it changes anything.
