Old Itunes on brand new MacBook?

Im about to switch from Windows laptops to my first ever Apple MacBook. I used to have an itunes account on a previous laptop, but to be honest Im not sure I even want any of its old content anymore.

Rather than delete all my itunes content, im thinking it would be nice to start over with a new itunes account for my new macbook.

Before I buy my macbook will I need to close my existing itunes account in order to start again, or should I just keep the old account going? Does it matter?

No need to delete/close your old account. I'd just wipe any data associated with it, especially CC info etc.
