Hi,
I wonder if any of you collectors recall a commercial mac made in the mid-to-late 1990s.

I believe it was for a Performa of some sort. The "plot" was that the computer was in a kid's bedroom, and he had made some sort of crazy 'saturday morning style' cartoon and set it as an alarm clock to wake him up.

I have searched around but can't seem to find it.

The reason I am looking is that I have a bunch of older macs now, and it's just an odd curiosity I have.

Thanks if anyone remembers!
-Paul:)

Yup. I remember it. I'll see if I can locate it. Don't hold your breath, though! :(

Thanks buddy - I had seen that one a while back. Some great gems on there.
I don't see the one I am thinking of though.
Someday...

heheh

I know I have it on CD. I have about 10 CDs of Apple TVCs and video media.

I'll have a look.

EDIT: I've found it, but I'm having difficulty getting it up on my free webspace. I'm also having difficulty converting it since it's an odd-ball frame rate. I'll get there somehow. I've given up on geocities (can't upload larger than a 5MB file - what rubbish). Youtube couldn't convert the original mov and the MP4 I uploaded ended up with keyframes botched. Trying again.

EDIT 2: Success! Enjoy:

Now, if only someone had the ENTIRE Apple Performa Infomercial...

I thought I had it on tape somewhere - but I think the tape ended up in the trash... :(

Which one? Any clues as to the content? I have quite a few but I'm not keen to upload all of them just yet, but if you can give me something unique to look for, I might be able to throw it up on YouTube.

I suspect this is one that is several minutes long, but I think I have more than one of those. ;)

I think he means the one that's around 20 or 30 minutes long and shows all the members of some family (I want to say they were Greek) doing cool things with their new Performa. The member I recall vividly was the grandfather, who found some old chick to date. I think the kids made school projects, the parents balanced the budget - all that stereotypical stuff.

It was really cheesy. Like, "Growing Pains" on crack cheesy.

LOL @ ""Growing Pains" on crack" :D

Ok, I think I vaguely recall this one. I'll have a look.
