hey..i would appreciate some help here, today i went out and got myslef an old quadra monitor, i wanted a monitor for my itunes, however i doesnot work. like it turns on and my powerbook recognises it but the picture is all distorted. would this just simply be bacuase the monitor is too old or is there somthing i can do to fix it?

cheers =)

It has a lot to do with which monitor, exactly, it is.

Many of the older Apple screens were not multiple-sync monitors, they were fixed scan frequency monitors, and these are not compatible with Macs starting from the G3 blue and white and up.

Your problems are consistent with inability to sync.

I agree.

Time to get a VGA-to-Mac VGA adapter.

I think the old Mac VGA is a sync on green ... so it's not getting a sync signal with regular VGA.
