old macbook body aluminum or paint? can this be cleaned?

I am goint to sell my old macbook pro to buy a new one. I want to make it look as new as possible but it has some marks where I rest my wrist and it looks like of the paint has fall down. isnt supposed to be aluminum? if it is aluminum can i just scratch the marks until they disappear?
I am attaching a pinture.

Those look like burn marks to me. You would have to buy a new top case to fix that.

Its painted aluminum
don't scratch it, it will look worse. Best bet to fix would be to keep trying different products or respray that piece but it will be hard to blend/match or replace case
