hello guys,
I have a dilemma...

I have a macbook pro from last year and it has nVidia Geforce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 SDRAM. I am considering getting the new macbook pro 13". However, i understand the nVidia GeForce 9400M is integrated and shared with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM main memory.

will the graphics be better in the NEW 13" macbook pro or will the seperate 8600 in the 15" be better?

thanks for the advice

even though the GPU is integrated it still a pretty power GPU

just to give you an idea i have the new 13 inch and i installed windows to game with it. I ran the counter strike source FPS test and averaged 90 FPS, i was pretty impressed. Hope that gives you an idea of the performance.

Lots of people (like me) never had any issues with the card. Just find one with Applecare still.

the 13" MBP is a great machine but you will be stepping back in terms of performance, at least graphical performance. The discrete 8600 is better then the 9400. I'd say since your machine is only a year old, hold on to it for a bit longer and next year when apple (presumably) releases the Nehalem based MBPs, you can then get a bigger boost in performance.

ok... thanks
will my 15" be able to run starcraft 2 when it comes out?
