Okay so I broke down and bought a new Mini.

My question is-what is the BEST WAY to get my Mac Data over to the new HD?

Most of my documents are stored on my Mini-Stack, but there are some word processor, Keynote and WMV files on my "old" mini HD that I want to keep for the new mini.

I was thinking of using time machine to make a back-up but am not sure this would restore on the "new" mini.

Thanks in advance, as always-MacRumors is home to the most knowledgable Mac folks out there :)

You could use the migration assistant during setup of the new Mini to copy data from you old user via Firewire.

If you've already set up you Mini, you can connect the old Mini via a (6 to 9 pin / 400 to 800) Firewire cable, start the old Mini, press T right after the start up sound to enable Target Disk Mode and the old Mini will show as an external disk on your new Mini.

Now you can copy all the data you want form your User account our even Applications with their appropriate libraries.
