the new girl I started dating mentioned that she bent the round piece on her mac's (laptop) older style power cord.

I don't know if she had a powerbook or the version below it, but wondered where I would be able to purchase replacements.

didn't see them on the apple store.

does it matter if the cord is made for powerbook vs ibook?

Older power adapters (i.e., non-magsafe) are not under a patent so there have been plenty of 3rd party development of adapters. You can almost certainly find one in a large electronics store, online, or with ebay.

OWC (macsales.com) has one for $35. eBay appeared to have them for around $15. But since she still has it (and the computer) figure out what model it works with first. The power output requirements are printed on the AC unit itself.
