La la land
Hi all,

I just replaced my macbook ram, and I took out my 2 * 1GB DDR3 RAM from there.

I'm just wondering if I can put that RAM in my friend's acer travelmate laptop, it's a little bit old (2006, and currently 512MB), and I think its maximum is DDR2. Is DDR3 backwards compatible?

Furthermore, how would I know which screwdrivers I need for the laptop? I can't find website like ifixit.com for pc laptops, do i just have to guess? I tried googling around but had no luck...

EDIT: found manual on http://support.acer.com/us/en/acerp...00/Acer/TravelMate3250/TravelMate3250nv.shtml but didn't mention which screwdriver to use (said consult a qualified technician.. huh!)

DDR3 is not backwards compatible.

As for the screwdrivers, just take a look at the laptop itself.
