EDIT: Never mind. Disregard this post. I'm a complete bonehead. DVI-I is what I'm (probably) looking for.

As per subject, I need to find one of these. It can't be a DVI-D to VGA adapter, as those don't work with the Mini G4, and the regular straight adapters are too long for what I want to accomplish. Anyone know where to get one? I tried eBay, Amazon, and Newegg with no luck.

Here's a photo of the pin layout:

DVI-I is required for the analog signal pass thru to VGA.

I never had to deal with DVI-D to VGA adapters but they do exist. I know some PC motherboards have DVI-D outputs which are basically just HDMI.

Does Mac mini G4 not support DVI-D?

I've never seen a 90° DVI-I to VGA adapter before. Here's one:

It seems that the 90° adapter would take less space then a flexible DVI option:

Found both of these on Amazon. One will point up the other will point down.

Thanks. I ended buying Apple's DVI single-link to VGA adapter. That'll work and give me the room that I need for it to clear the space that I need. It turns out that the cable I bought for the conversion was a DVI-D cable. Learn something new every day.

"Does Mac mini G4 not support DVI-D?"

I guess it doesn't, or, rather, not the frequency that my modern monitor requires.

It sure does, I’ve driven several digital-only displays off mine. The specs mention a 135 MHz pixel clock limit for “non-coherent displays” (I don’t know what that means though) which isn't sufficient for 1080p/WUXGA@60Hz.

It's not really something they list in the specs for a display, but most are non-coherent.

I ran across some linux documantion for the G4 mini that list a mode for both internal and external TMDS, so maybe the silent upgrade Mini with 64MB of VRAM they added an external TMDS to solve that issue.

Someone with a 1.5ghz Mini will have to test that for us.
