How come the cursor in OS X on my new MacBook is the old skool one (black, wrist watch, small rotating ball next to cursor) and not the new (beach ball, etc)? It was like that when I got it.

I have both. If I'm running firefox, and have the curser near the tool bar, it shows the hourglass. On the regular screen, the beach ball while its processing. Is yours giving you the hourglass when opening programs and such?

It's always the old skool type, whatever I do. Also I don't get hourglasses when I start programs, they start immediately (4GB ram).
