Old Skool Files - cant work out which app

Hi,

I have some very old files from 2001 that I can't open as I'm not sure what application they were created in and therfore have the generic icon as attached.

Is there a way to find out more info about the file to help determine which application it oculd of been created in.

Have you tried GET INFO yet?
Have you looked for the extension (suffix) via a www search engine yet?

Yep, Get info doe snot help and there is no file extension

Open it in a text editor and see if there are any clues at the start of the file. Quite often there will be even if its amongst a lot of gobbledegook.

Or if the info is not confidential you could try this online site I found. There may be others. Personally I'd use a disposable email address for it.

Found an app called Quck Change that reveals the files type and creator is

XDOC XPR3

Which I think is Quark Xpress
