Old web pages/text appear briefly after unlocking

I've noticed really strange things going on with both my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 Plus. After unlocking via passcode or Touch ID, the app I open up into briefly displays a web page I visited hours prior, then quickly reverts to the actual last page I was on. Same thing with text conversations. Messages will briefly show conversations long deleted before reverting back to the active messages list.

I don't recall this happening before iOS 8, maybe a memory bug?
