I have just bought a 30" ACD, being told it was just over a year old.

I've plugged the serial number into the Apple website, and it's saying it's a Late 2005 model.

Not only is this a lot older, it's before the spec. increase occured.

The box seems to back this up (Tiger on the front, ancient minimum specs.).

He says it was bought from an Apple store here in the UK in Oct. '07.

The display is in perfect condition, and doesn't look three years old, but I don't see why an Apple store would have old stock?

Thoughts?

Regards,

Mark.

Nothing seems unusual to me and I wouldn't let it concern you.

You know that your iMac can't power a 30" display at more than 1280x800 resolution right?

I just want to add that while you do have an "older" 30" display there is barely any difference between the first ones they released and the ones they sell today.

I can imagine it's not huge.

If it were it to have been used for a couple of extra years... that is a big difference on it's longevity, and should have been reflected in what I paid.

Frankly I'm surprised Apple hasn't released info on their new 30" LED display yet, I was expecting it to be announced by January.
