Hi all. I bought an Aluminum keyboard way back when the ipad 2 was released. I am not sure, but I believe it's the 2007 model. I now have an ipad air 2 and the keyboard still seems to work ok.

One problem I've always had with the keyboard is sometimes the first word I type with it, it repeats the first letter. example: llike this.

I read there is a 1.1 update for the keyboard that fixes the key repeating bug, but I do not have a Mac. Do you think if I took it up to the apple store they'd let me update the firmware from one of their machines?

Thanks

If you have the wrong ghost in the machine (keyboard) the 1.1 firmware update should indeed solve your repeat problem.

So you have no Mac using friends nearby Blarneysone? I don't know if the Apple store will let you complete that firmware update or not.

I suggest that you call your local Apple store or even visit them if they are nearby. Perhaps they will perform the update for a small fee or even for free.
