Emails I've received before May won't load from the Inbox. All I get is a rotating gear and the word "Loading..." I am using an iMac and Mail 5.2. Anyone have a suggestion how to fix this problem?

I'm using Mail 4.5 in Snow Leopard, so this might be different with 5.2 under Lion, but select your Inbox and then from the Mailbox menu select Rebuild. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately when I did what you suggested, all my emails prior to April disappeared. Back to the drawing board.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like the messages themselves may not have been in the Inbox and it was just the "listing information". Do you have a backup? Maybe someone else has a another suggestion.

What is the nature of your email provider?
