Thinking about buying this from craigslist -

Is it seems like a very good deal - but I'm not familiar with the mac minis.

Here is the pertinent info:

Mac Mini running OS X 10.6.4
1.5GHz
1GB
60GB
Bluetooth Full Size Keyboard
Bluetooth Mighty Mouse
HP 17" LCD Monitor

It will also include iLife '09 and iWork '09.

She's asking $300.

Thanks in advance for your responses!

It's not bad, the processors in that one can be swapped out for a core 2 duo, 2gb of ram works, and a faster HDD will help it out.

Stock, it'll be really, really slow.

By 1.5GHz and OS 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard), I assume its the Core Solo model. I had one - and yes, it was DOG SLOW with the Core Solo. I upgraded mine to a Core Duo T2500 (at the time Core 2's were really expensive) and it was like a whole new machine. Upgrade the processor and the memory to 2GB and it'll be a nice machine.

BUT... you're talking about a $75 processor upgrade and about $50 for the memory. And the stock 60GB hard drive is a dog, too - figure another $50 at least for a decent HD. By then you're approaching $500. Might as well spend $600 and get the new model Mini refurb.

Just my 2 cents... :)

Thanks - I think I'll pass then -

It wasn't something I needed, so why spend that money...
