Howdy guys. I tried posting something similar to this a day ago but received little to no response.. I thought trying the true MacBook forum might be better. Anyways, I am debating selling my Core Duo MacBook Pro with about 6 months of warranty left and picking up a white MacBook base. I actually like the design of the classic MacBook versus new unibody. I would definitely upgrade the RAM to high frequency 800 mhz DDR2.

With that in mind, how would the base NVIDIA compare to a:

Core Duo (32-bit) MacBook Pro
Ati X1600 256 VRAM
2 GIG of RAM

I would probably put either 4 gigs or 6 into the base MacBook.

How do these compare for daily use with virtualization? What about gaming? Can I do any gaming on the MacBook? Will it be any faster then the Pro? I have heard the NVIDIA integrated is wonderful...

You'll find that the nVidia 9400M beats out your ATi unit in graphics in almost everything, actually. And considering it's part of the Core 2 family and not Core, you'll find some nice speed improvements despite same/slightly higher clock
