Older MacBook Pro won't read or burn DVD-R

Hi Folks,

I am trying to burn a DVD from the photos that I took on our "Roadtrip 2012" vacation.

I had uploaded all of the photos to the MBP daily while we were traveling and site seeing.

I produced a show with iDVD and have been trying to burn it to a DVD-R disk. But every time I insert a disk, it refuses to prepare it and spits it back out.

I have tried a bunch of different disks from my supply and get the same results.

I should note that I have inserted the disks into my PC and they show up as they should there.

I am really at a loss what to do...........HELP

Superdrives go bad, very expensive to replace. An external USB drive would work.

Thanks blueroom.........Bought a Samsung DVD USB and am burning as I write this.
