I did some A/B testing with my OLED XS Max and my IPS iPad Pro. I took some pictures of the same thing and compared. I looked at some other identical things on each screen.

My impression is actually neither are totally accurate with colors. OLED does seem to oversaturate, but IPS seems to under saturate.

Both of course technically have P3 wide color gamuts, but you can see they still look very different to the naked eye.

Has anyone else had this observation?

And will we ever have a screen tech that can actually be 100% accurate in the future?
 
Well that's what the market wants. When Pixel 2 came out with accurate displays people said the colours were too 'flat/faded' so they released an update to saturate the colours
