I made the mistake of cleaning my iPhone 6 several times with rubbing alcohol this year before learning of the damage solvents can cause to the iPhone's Oleophobic costing. I have looked at several options and decided to try something unconventional, windshield rain repellant. I learned about AquaPel, a treatment first developed for the air force that apparently bonds directly with the glass rather than creating a film like rainX does. I am on day 2 and it doesn't seem to have caused any damage but there does seem to be less fingerprints and smudging. I'll keep you posted.

I'd love to hear what other people have done.

I'm not trying to get anyone to buy AquaPel or rainX, this is just for informational purposes
