OK, I admit I give up! I've googled and tried all sort of procedures, however I'm unable to move my emails from the latest version of Microsoft Outlook for Mac to the Lion Version of Apple Mail.

Does anyone have any advice?

Assuming that Outlook is installed on your Lion Mac.

It might be worth trying File/Import Mailboxes in Mail - use the Entourage feature & force it to open Outlook when it doesn't find Entourage.
Hopefully it will then recognise & read the MS PST file via Outlook.

In the likely event that doesn't work, download Mozilla Thunderbird & use that to import mail from Outlook. Then, once the email is in mbox format, mail.app can import that.

There is an old write-up of importing from Outlook on an XP PC to a Mac here, it may help you visualise the 2nd part
