On 4.0.1 JB'd, need to restore phone. SHSHs on file w/ Cydia. What is the correct way

download firmware 4.0.1 and Shift restore in itune. Do complete backup just in case. and rejailbreak.

Download the appropriate 4.0.1 version build here and then option (mac) or shift (windows) +restore.

Click run TSS server on umbrella.

I restored today with option restore, which installed 4.0 but also put me in recovery mode do to the edited host file.

So I removed server from host file. Rebooted, opened umbrella, started TSS server, clicked kick device out of recovery mode button, worked like a charm.

So I wouldn't do the host file thing. Just use umbrella.

I had to restore on Saturday, and I tried using umbrella but it didn't work for me, it kept giving me an error. So I had to edit the host in order for it to work. Anyone know why didn't running TSS server didn't work for me?
