If anyone is looking for a non earbud headphone solution...
Requirements:
-Portable (I'm on a train or plane everyday)
-Noise reduction (Cancelling is nice, but not required)
-On-Ear (I tried at least 10 earbuds with no luck, either wouldn't fit or didn't like the sound)
-Ability to pause music and answer calls without using the phone
Picked up the Bose On-Ear Heaphones, not the Mobile version that the Apple stores are pushing. It comes with a 16" cord and a 42" cord. I also got the Shure Mobile Adapter. I use the 16" cord combined with the Shure MPA and it works great (length would be perfect if it was 4" shorter). The solution is $10 more than the mobile Bose set, but you get the ability to pause songs, skip to the next track, answer calls, or send calls to voicemail on the mic.
I had the Bose On-Ear Mobile set, but the mic picks up so much background noise that people couldn't hear me. With the Shure, it does pick up background noise, but not as bad. You can also position the Shure mic in a spot that allows you talk into it better.
With the Shure MPA, you don't need an adapter as it fits nicely into the iPhone.
