On Screen Keyboard Does not Show Up

Hi,

I have 2010 MacBook Pro with High Sierra installed.

Although, ''Show keyboard and emoji viewers in menu bar'' is checked, it does not show up.

Also my ''Dashboard'' hot corner is not working.

Does anyone know why?
