I have an old Thunderbolt display, and I want to try using it as a TV.
Would it work to use an HDMI to Ethernet adapter to take output from a Roku Streaming Stick and plug it into the Ethernet port on the display?
I see that NewEgg has a "HDMI Network Extender Adapter" that's intended for converting to Ethernet for the purpose of using longer distance cables. (one adapter at each end). I don't need extra distance, and I would just use one adapter. Would that work?

I forgot to mention, Thunderbolt displays don't have HDMI.
The ports are: three USBs, one Firewire, one Thunderbolt, and one Ethernet. It also has one permanently attached Thunderbolt cord.
