Right now I am in Maui Hawaii visiting some family and I forgot my USB cable to plug into my Mac. I am charging it with an incase dual wall/car charger so I didn't bring my USB cable. I didn't think I would need it.

So here it goes, my iPhone is jailbroken on 3.1.2 and I just want to restore it because it keeps freezing it's irritating me and my battery is draining like crazy and I know it is because my phone is jailbroken and I use backgrounder and kirake mainly. I would like to restore it back to normal.

Any way possible I can do this without plugging it in to my computer since I don't have a USB with me?

Thanks in advance for any help.

how about you erase all content and settings on the iPhone (this way if im correct, it deletes or hides the jailbrokeness of the phone). You go into an Apple store and ask them if they can restore it for you, they do and there you go.

that's the problem, no Apple store near where I am at, at all.:(

I just deleted my backgrounder and kirake. Maybe my battery will do a lot better now? Are there any other certain apps while jailbroken that can make the battery die quicker that I should know about so I can delete them in Cydia?

at that point, why not buy the cable?

because it isn't that serious to where I need to buy a cable I'm only here for another 2 days and I have a cable at home. But I am just sick of my battery dying so quickly. If there is no other option, I can wait or just delete apps that drain battery quickly.

But it's serious enough to take it to an apple store and have them reload the os? I mean that was the comment I was addressing to:cool:

Surely, Hawaii has a walmart?

But then again, if it's not that serious, then wait the 2 days to do it

There's a couple AT&T stores in Maui, they should carry the cable. There's also a apple store in Honolulu if you're going there at any point.

Still looking for an answer for what apps drain the battery on jailbroken apps. I only use themes really now and different fonts since I just deleted backgrounder and kirake.

In that case, just wait. There's not OTA way to do this without a cable. Just a hint as well, it's never a bad idea to have a spare that you just keep in your bag for situations like this.

aka winterboard? thats the culprit my friend. uninstall winterboard.

anything else besides winterboard and backgrounder guy?

Appreciate the help, and you guys are right definitely right about carrying an extra cable. I'll keep that in mind next time. I had a feeling I would need it.

Not trying to be sarcastic, but....

You're in Hawaii...paradise to some...put the phone in a box, go have fun and enjoy yourself for the few days remaining. The phone can wait, life doesn't.

haha u got that right I hear you on that. I'm so used to checking my emails and check up on business I need to relax a bit.

Nevermind guys, Just deleted cydia and winterboard. I'm good now  thanks to youtube. Wish I would have looked a while ago.

I deleted cydia but my fontswap app is still on my phone and works. Does that mean cydia isn't actually deleted?
