On what basis does preview remember the page you were on

Hi

I've had weeks without opening a document, that still remembered on what page I was when I reopened it.

Today I opened a document, read a bit more, closed it and when I re-opened it a few hours later, it was back on page one.

I don't remember doing anything, so I wonder why it happens?

Not sure why Preview is "forgetting" where it was, but, to prevent that from happening in the future, just "set a bookmark" when you quit reading.

All you need to do is type "command-D" (same as Safari), and Preview will "remember" ...
