Once again, Error code 51

Canadian Eh!
I am trying to copy movies from an external drive to my NAS and I keep getting error code 51 (Unknown Error Occurred). The drive is formatted in mac os x extended journaled. I do not know what else to do because I can't copy them using my PC obviously, I don't want to reformat the drive because I will lose all my movies. I tried copying off the drive onto another external in FAT32 but that didn't work either and to top it off, I can't fit all the movies onto my macbook.. I am out of ideas
 
Solution

First off, shout out to BobZune

Who recommended a few possible solutions to my problem!:D

I used my external drive and connected it to my PC, downloaded HFSExplorer which allowed me to access my linux formatted external drive. (Removed from my NAS for upgrade)
