Or anti-glare as Apple advertises it.

Picked up a 17" i7 MacBook Pro yesterday. This is my seventh Apple notebook and first with an anti-glare display.

I was afraid of the colors not looking as vivid as the glass/glossy displays, but it looks great so far. Also, I'm browsing with a large open window directly behind me! :D

Just had to share, anyone else go matte and never look back?

I wish i had waited till the Matte option was out for the current Macbook Pros

When i had the last one it was Matte and i went glossy to give it a chance.

Matte all the way, without a doubt

It's probably true, started with the anti glare 17" then the ipad with anti glare screen protector, then the iphone 4 with anti glare screen protector :)

Where did you get that iPhone 4 one from and how much was it?

The Anti-Glare screen ( the 2010 version atleast ) is amazing yes. But I don't like LED screens though ( atleast the one Apple uses )

I still prefer glossy, even though it is a pain if I have to sit in front of a window or something bright.

How can you not like lower power consumption, brighter, whiter and more even backlighting? I'm not sure I follow your logic(or lack thereof).

I want a matte iMac please! Considering these things aren't as each to move about as a notebook they should definitely have the option!

i will never buy another apple computer unless they offer the antiglare/matte option - hence why i got my mbp with it :)

i would go with matte but the silver border is a deal breaker.

I thought that before buying my matte screen but I think the functionality is more important than a little black boarder. Now I think it looks much nicer anyway. :)

love the black border and the glossy look, hate the glare but the glare is only a problem outside and I don't use mine much outside so it's fine

maybe if I end up cracking my screen, I'll get a matte screen from tech restore since their matte screens have the black border, and they're only 15 mins away

Whats Tech Restore?

i've had 3 different unibodies, I also thought the black was way better looking before i got my 15" i7 with AG, now I think that the black border is much worse looking. My brother is right next to me using his i5 with glossy screen. Not only is the reflection atrocious but it doesn't look anywhere near as sleek.

I remember opening the i7 lid for the first time and just thinking "wow".

We are going to order power support protectors for our iPads, and one for his MBP :)

eh, i watch a lot of movies while also graphic editing etc and sometimes ourside/nearopen windows so even though mastte would have been perfect the silver would have been distracting but i guess thats just my personal thoughts.

I didn't care before, I had glossy everything. I wanted the high res monitor on my 15" MBP, and found a good deal for one with a matte screen. I didn't think I was going to care one way or the other, but now that I've used it for a few days, I LOVE it.

I will never own a glossy display ever again.

I had a MBP with a glassy/glossy display, I loved the colour, my next MBP was a high-res anti-glare, it is indeed so much better without all the glare! I never noticed how annoying the reflections were till I used the anti-glare, for that reason, yes, I cannot go back to using glossy

In terms of looks, I think the antiglare bezel is cool in that it's different from the majority of the MBPs out there, while it still has the stock quality/look to it.
