One big difference between Google and Apple Maps

I had a chance to try Apple Maps for the first time today. It got me to the destination fine(I knew where I was going anyways), but I had to manually end the navigation. When I use Google Maps, it knows that I have arrived and auto-ends the navigation session. How come Apple? This is why Apple Maps has a bad reputation.
