Only my right external speaker is giving out sound. If I cover it up I can't hear anything. Seem the left speaker isn't given out any sound. Could I have a setting wrong? Or is my speaker broken and as a result need a replacement phone?

I'm an idiot. Someone delete this thread before anyone else sees it

It astonishes me, the number of people that don't consider where the mic is. Nothing personal, but is reason passé in the 21st century? Considering Rihanna, Gaga, Fergie and Kesha rule the air waves, yes, yes it is.

I think you spelled Ke$ha wrong =P

Wow, I can't believe this keeps coming up.

A simple glance at the stickies, search of the forum, Google etc. would give the answer. This should be required before asking a question.

Yup, pass the dunce cap to the OP. ;)

In an attempt to salvage some use of this thread I'm asking if anyone has noticed how sensitive the speaker is? Maybe its just the design being a bit different but if I'm playing a game in landscape mode it seems my finger has to be just partially blocking the speaker and practically all sound goes. I even tried it on my iPhone 3G and it wasn't as bad. I'm expecting many "Don't hold it that way" responses :D but I was just wondering really, as some games use fixed angles so it can be annoying.

I hate to bring this thread back up again....but I think that is part of the reason for these questions. It is very easy to block the speaker on the iPhone 4. I never noticed the fact only one part was a speaker in the 30 months I had the original iPhone. As soon as I got the iPhone 4 I was wondering why it only came out one side.
"Don't hold it that way" :)

I think it is because the iP4 speaker is slightly more recessed. That way you are able to create a more perfect seal.

BTW I like that fact that the speaker and mic have swapped position. It means I don't cover the speaker as much playing landscape games.;)
