Here it is. If i buy MBP, i'll sell my PC at home. But will keep the monitor. So there will be only MBP at home. I don't play games...I'm a graphics designer.
Can i do with only a laptop?

That sounds like a great buy for you then. Enjoy your laptop but you might want to wait for them to be updated to Penryn. There's a lot of Page 1 MacRumors talk on this.

Yes you can. Because that's what I plan to do. I used to be a desktop guy but since I've joined the Air Force travelling has been a big part of my life so now I need a laptop. I'm buying a MacBook for on the go. Buy a Cinema Display for home and connect the MacBook to it as a "home" computer.

I know quite a few graphic designers who use macbook pros as their primary computers. Go for it!

I'm just curious, but do they have the 15" or 17" model? That's what I'm trying to decide on.

Get the 15" if you'll be taking it around with you and want LED backlighting, otherwise get the 17" if you're looking for a desktop replacement.

I think you should go to the store and see both in person for yourself...

Also weigh out factors such as portability and screen real-estate....

I have checked them both out at the store and I really like the 17" w/ 1920x1200 resolution, but I don't think its worth the $800 dollar difference since I could get a 15" and lcd setup.

Then I think you know the answer to your questions my friend. ;)

i'm a graphic designer, I WILL be buying a Macbook pro this semester, I am waiting ONE MORE... 1 MORE, Tuesday. If they don't come out with the Penryns, I am buying it the weekend after it doesn't update.

You'll just have to accept that the updates may well happen within the 14 day return policy - but of course, that's your your own choice to make (or a few hundred down the drain for a restocking fee). I have to ask though: if you were able to make it ONE MORE tuesday, why not just ONE MORE again? and then again? and then again? I feel your pain.... see sig...

Cause hardmac says Feb12th. But I will be doing some hardcore designs that requires a mac, I had a hard time doing my last assignment on PC because of font compatibility, speed, and no .Mac server. I will be assigned to do a 16 page magazine layout, and its going to be insane.
