Hi All-

I'm doing a project for my stats class, and have put together some real simple questions about the thanksgiving holiday. It'll take you a minute or less to do, and you can also sign up to see the results once I finish the analysis and report.

It's really really quick! Your participation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Seems pretty well thought-out. I'd be interested in the day trip vs. longer trip ratio.

I did notice that in the meat type list it only considered poultry (I'm assuming Turkey). We also serve ham, oddly enough, which is what I generally eat.

Pedantic time: When you say "Gender:" and have a male/female dropdown menu, that's wrong. Gender is the name for the behaviors that culture attributes to each sex; sex is the physical equipment. You mean sex. :)

Having said that, I filled it out! :)

Edit: Also, I know it's normal to use "gender" for dropdown lists like that. Still wrong. ;)

While I have to agree that the term "sex" would have been better, it is not wrong. One definition of gender from dictionary.com says, "The condition of being female or male; sex." Might not be PC, but still correct.

Stupid dictionaries, they're always wrong. ;) OK, I concede the point that with current usage, it's not necessarily wrong. I still think that it should be though. :)

Yep, my sister (majored in communications) gave me a lecture on that too. So would I put "man/woman?" I think i'd be more interested, for the purpose of this survey, in how people consider themselves (more so than what they've got in the pants)

Very nicely made page, btw!
Thanks! It's lovingly crafted by hand.. no fancy HTML editors here..

The response has been great, and I'll post a link here to my report - as well as send it via email to those of you who requested it - as soon as it's done.

Thanks again! And feel free to send it on to other friends that might be interested. The more data, the better!

I filled it in as well, #230!

How do you like stats? I'm going to be taking the class during spring quarter (I have to take calculus first this winter) so I was just wondering.

I just contributed as well.

Thanks for responding! You are respondent #231. Send this page to your friends - your support is appreciated!

Glad I could help. Are you going to post the outcome of your survey here at MR?

here are my comments

This isn't scientific you need to restrict your subjects responses, and into a way you can quantify and qualify them

not much of a thanksgiving type these days...all kids are grown up and in different parts of the world
