One of MANY bugs I am dealing with on my 5S with 8.0.2

DO NOT UPDATE. There's just too many to list like tapping on contact and it won't dial out. Just lets you keep pressing.

I have that on 7.1.2. What solves it is force close Messages App and reopening. Maybe it works for you?

When you updated to you do a fresh restore through iTunes (not from backup), or did you just do an OTA update?

I've heard a fresh update through iTunes (not from backup) can help reduce the bugs you encounter.

No problems on 8.0.2 on my 5s.
