This is sorely needed. Glad it's coming.

The article says that developers will be getting access to code their notifications for this too...Is this true? Tired of playing a turn in words with friends and then seeing the notification/banner on my other device until I open it to refresh.

This features with redundant iMessage notifications is how it works for me on two iOS 5.1.1 devices and Lion OS X Messages app. All three work together seamlessly.

Right. I was just referring to the example used. I think it is just for native Apple apps though.

I don't think anyone has addressed the second part of this. Will developers now be able to integrate this functionality into their apps? Any current developers that has looked at the code and can give us insight?
