I purchased one of these XDR Displays... I'm just wondering if one is good enough to replace my two 27" LG 5K displays...?

Lol, for the price, I guess it should be! But does a 32" really replace two 27"? I guess time will tell... I might have two 5K's for sale here shortly...
I think they're very tricky things to compare. For some people, 2x 27" may be far better as there will be much more useable space. For others, the colour accuracy of the XDR makes the LG displays unviable to use.

There's no equation that can say if XDR > 2x LG 5K, as they are products catering for different markets. I would love to be able to buy an XDR on a whim as I'm sure it's the best display you can buy, but the vast majority of the price is for the accuracy, contrast and brightness of a professional reference monitor.

I think the fact that the XDR doesn't come with a stand, webcam, microphone or speakers built-in underlines that this is not an LG 5K competitor, which is rooted firmly in the prosumer category.

You know what has more space than 2x 27" LG displays? 2 XDR displays. I'd love to be the person who could buy two on a whim.

I would say no. But you can use sidecar with iPad Pro as the side monitor or if you are driving the XDR with a MacBook Pro (like I will be) and using the 16" screen as the other panel, then yes. (at least I hope, for me)

Well regarding user tests 2 smaller monitors are better than 1 big monitor, as the brain can more easily organize itself. But of course a bigger monitor helps a lot when you need tool windows along with content area in a programm as you don't have to resize all the time.

I'd say use the 6K and add the 2 5Ks left and right to it :)

I wish I could do 6K and two 5K but my graphics card won’t let me.

Depends on what you do on your machine.
If you just want to spread out, there's more surface area on the two displays. For example, photoshop with the image on one display and palettes on the other.
If you need one big timeline for video editing, one larger display would be better.
We need more info to give you suggestions.

I enjoy multiple monitors, but the frustration with the LG 5K's is that I have two of them, but one has a white screen and the other looks like nightshift mode is always on... terrible. I miss my 38" ultrawide, but the PPI was terrible.

Sounds like the LGs came from two very different batches. If you're still within time frame, I'd exchange them or call LG support.
I have two Dell 27" displays -- not 4K/5K but otherwise identical in brightness and color temperature. But both were bought together.

I wish the XDR Display had a webcam and speakers. I've had my Lg 5K for almost 2 years and love it for my work stuff, I just can't give it up yet.

Revisiting this thread. I want to replace two LG 5K 27", with one XDR (I already have the Logitech 4K camera and will add speakers). The LG's always have one issue or another. How did the real estate "lost" from two 27" to one 32" felt to those that switched. I agree that 2 XDR's would be better - but the price is steep. I also considered Getting an XDR and using a 27" 5K as a second side monitor, not sure if the MBP 2019 would allow for this combo..

I just went from two 27" Thunderbolt displays to an XDR. It took a couple of days to get used to the single screen. I used to have a code editor or IDE on one screen and a browser on the other. Now I just split them 50/50 instead. The XDR is a really awesome display, as you'd expect for the money. I avoided the LGs due to a) the M1's only supporting one display and a single 27" wouldn't have cut it, and b) the retention and general QC issues with them put me off. I just went with the standard glass and it has noticeably fewer reflections than the 27" Thunderbolt Displays.

I just got the XDR - Love it. I had dual LG275K's - I replaced one of them with the XDR and kept the other one as a second screen. The MBP 2019 16" with the AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB, support the pair fine.
