Hi,

I received an e-mail from Apple where they state they are recalling some batteries for computers like the i-book G4.

In the letter they state that batteries with the first five serial, ranging from:

6C519 TO 6C552,

AND ending with S9WA, S9WC, or S9WD

can be changed for a new battery.

My question is the following, my battery falls within that range, however my ending is S9ZD. Is there a chance that in the letter they may have also meant batteris ending with S9ZD. (My battery gets really hot and my ibook too) ?? How could one ask Apple about it ??

Thank you very much,

Ignacio.

No then it won't be covered by the exchange programme. I think my sister's iBook had the same serial number range as yours. When we entered her details onto the Apple Support pages it said that the computer serial number was eligible for the programme (i.e. it's a 12" iBook G4) but the battery serial number did not qualify for recall.
