One way calendar syncing

This may be an easy question for someone. I use outlook at my office and have it synced with iCal on my iPhone 4 and iPad 3. How do I keep private events that I enter in iCal from syncing with my outlook (ex. A dr apt.). I still want my outlook events to show on my calendar on my mobile devices. Thanks
