Hi all,

I've just set up an email account for myself and my fiancee - we want to use it for wedding logistics, sending out info, dates etc etc.

I set it up on Yahoo! so it is an @ymail.com address.

Am I able to configure both our iPhones to use this same single address, so that we both receive the emails that are sent to the address, and are both able to send emails out from the address separately?

Or will there be some kind of conflict, and/or the emails will only be sent out to one of the two iPhones?

I can't seem to find much definitive information out on the web.

However, my research has pointed me towards some differences between Pop3 (which I think Yahoo! uses) and IMAP (which something like gMail uses).

If Yahoo! doesn't support this, would I be better off setting up a gMail account if the IMAP function is the best way to support what we are looking for?

Thanks in advance!

You both can use the yahoo mail account. Yahoo mail is IMAP, not POP. So, if one of you deletes an email, the other won't see it. Also, if one of you opens an email, the other will see it as opened, not new.

BTW, IDK what ymail.com is. @yahoo.com is what I've used.

Thanks aggie.

I didn't realise that Yahoo! supported IMAP, again the web searches weren't especially helpful!

yMail is just a variation that Yahoo offer (along with @rocketmail.com) - gives a better choice on what is available, my name wasn't there @yahoo.com but I could get it @ymail.com.

I've been with Yahoo for over 10 years and it's certainly POP. I access and email using my account from either my iPhone or iMac.
