I was an early adopter and Nest Fan. You can find threads on this site to prove it!. The winds have changed. I yanked my Nest thermostat over the AppleWatch app being yanked (it's since been reinstated) for Ecobee. Haven't looked back.

My Nest Protect CO Sensor failed on one unit. The failure happened with a tick under 18 months left on the Product lifetime. Smoke/CO detectors do wear out, no issue there. Contacted customer support, and received a "sorry about your luck response." No attempt was made to retain me as a customer. I have two items left on my Google Home App. There will be a day now it will be zero.

I'm replacing the smoke detector with a OneLink as it has HomeKit integration. Anyone have any experience with this device?

I have three of them. Two of the three were not sending notifications from the OneLink app nor were they keeping a log of alarms. They were notifying me via HomeKit though but I prefer notifications from OneLink since it grabs my attention better. After some trouble shooting with customer support and testing with “smoke in a can” customer support agreed that there was an issue with the detectors and sent me two new ones, no fuss. Haven’t installed them yet though. I’ll give an A+ to customer support. Had an issue in the past that was resolved quickly too. Homekit integration is great. Got an alarm that set off an automation I had set up for it. (Turning on lights, unlocking doors and opening garages).
Another thing I found odd with these is they don’t show up on my WiFi list of connected devices unless they’re being actively tested or triggered in which case they drop off the connection shortly after the test/alarm is done. Using Eero Pro. When I go to OneLink app though, it says “WiFi Good”. I’m using the hardwired versions so I don’t see why they would need to go into a sleep mode of sorts. Not sure what’s going on with that.
Moving soon so I’m leaving these behind and gonna try out the Safe and Sound on the next go.
