Hey guys, im currently developing an online magazine / news site.. i started out with a customised version of wordpress but have found that its nowhere near as functional as i need. I'm not that keen on custom code as im sure there is some good off the shelf software i havent yet found out there!!

Has anyone here had any experiance with this kind of thing?

Thanks in advance :)

I am working on a web site which uses PHP-Nuke, but it has been since it started in 2002. I wouldn't recommend it.

I would love to know if there is anything good for me to upgrade to?

I was toying with the idea or building a bespoke system, but I why do that when someone has already done it for you?

What sort of functions does it not serve? Wordpress is very powerful as the 9Rules Network demonstrates. And I think their customization is not as heavy as some think.
