Hi All,

Mods- please move if this not the appropriate spot.

Wanted to clarify my understanding of the online purchase/device trade in process.

Is it possible for me to buy a new phone through Apple Store online (paying cash), and in that workflow select device trade in for my current device, select in store pick up for new device, and then trade in my old device remotely through the mail?

I live not close to Apple Store. May make a day trip to bigger city this weekend. I see availability for the device I want for in store pick up. If I buy now, can I schedule in store pick up Friday, then retain my current device until snail mail trade in kit comes in a few days and send old device in through the mail?

I think this is possible but wanted to check with all of you to be sure.

Thanks!

I don't believe it's possible at all to buy through the Online Store with cash 🧐

If you do a trade after-the-purchase but you DO pay cash (or equivalent), the trade value will come to you in the form of a Gift Card. The only time it's a credit off the payment method is if you pay via credit card.
