only getting 2 bars of airport signal strength

I've got a 12" PB, and just today I got a 20" cinema to go with it. But now that the PB is in clam mode on my desk, the number of signal strength bars that I get has dropped from 3 to two. What exactly does this mean? Am I going to have more trouble connecting to things? Will the connection be slower? Does it matter at all?

A weaker signal can mean a slower and less stable connection. 2 bars has always been okay for me though. I wouldn't worry much until you notice problems.

Your antenna is in the lid of your PowerBook. Now that it's lower it's not as effective. You might be able to position it to get a stronger signal.
