Only one tab freezes and rest of tabs works fine...

Hi, I am new to mac so appreciate any help.

I was writing my online assignment on the school website. While I was typing the screen suddenly froze and won't let me type or scroll anymore. But other tabs are working fine. Is there any way I can solve this without closing tab? (since theres my HW and i didn't save it. ) I am cursing mac now for freezing the most important HW i was working on for hours....

Please help me!!
