I only seem to get Name | Kind | Last Opened when I do a CMD-F search or any other kind of search for that matter. This is retarded... what if I want to sort my returns by size or date created?

Welcome to Apple's poor excuse for Finder search windows. It's a joke.

Here's a hint for Snow Leopard....although one I'd be careful using:

Basically, since 10.5 Apple screwed up the search results window so you can't sort by size.

Nope.

Do a CMD+F search and try to get more than 3 columns.

Apple did add back SOME options in Snow Leopard in a find window. Here's what I get when right clicking in a Find window in SL.

Still no ability to select Size though

Ahhh... I'm still on 10.5.8...

Man... seems like such a fundamental thing to leave out. I'd sacrifice a drop shadow here or there for some functionality. Also a "cut" (cmd+x) for files and folders in open and save dialogue windows in all applications, like Windows. I like to move stuff around sometimes while I'm opening or saving files in Photoshop or whatever...

C'mon Apple... get on it.

Couldn't agree with you more. Maybe now that the Finder was re-written for Snow Leopard, they'll focus on fixing some of these annoyances.

There really is no excuse for leaving out columns in the search window like Size.

As for the cut in Finder and Open/Save windows.....I really think Apple now needs to implement this *at least* as a hidden preference. I understand if it's against their UI principles, but give me the choice as a developer to use Terminal to write a pref file to allow it.
