Heaven or Hell
i'd like to know people's experience with cleaning apps
like Onyx, TinkerTool System, Tiger Cache Clean.....etc.....

Can they do damage to your Mac, or are they just good at
cleaning out old cache etc...... ?

From my little experience, my macs seems to run much quicker
after i run one of these apps......

Onyx is a very useful app, and does a lot more than cleaning the chaches. If you are using Leopard it is still in beta, so be careful. This is a free utility

Leopard (Tiger) Cache Cleaner is also another very good app with lots of additional features for automating maintenance tasks and much more, it even includes a copy of ClamXav. This app is not free, but is cheap.

Whatever maintenance and cleaning app that you choose should be used with caution, otherwise you may end up with and unuseful system.

Hope this helps

Merry Xmas :apple:

TinkerTool isn't for system maintenance, it allows changing some GUI settings for which Apple hasn't provided an interface.
