My 21,5 2011 iMac had a lot of dead pixels so it got collected under applecare and they said backup as it may be replaced or have the screen replaced but i just remember ive sent it off with an additional 8GB of ram in it (crucial)

any advice?

Should i ring them up or should i hope they send me the same back

When all goes well, they should notice it. When my iMac returned from AppleCare (replacement of main board) I got a note with it on which they had registered the extra RAM. But it can't hurt to double check with them I think.

Yeah, I would make sure they registered that just so you can sleep a little better at night.

On a side note, my iMac is out for repair and they are replacing the HDD, but also got the managers approval to give me back my current HDD too. Got to love Apple Care customer service.
