Was wondering if anyone had any scoop on the inner audio area of the 3GS.
It could be the audio section or something with the overall internals, re: wiring or something but the sound seems to me improved.

It's like they installed a DAC or something. It has an oddly similar feel as my external DAC, the Lavry DA10.

Not using the Apple buds from hell. I have been using the Ultimate Ears triple fi's and the sound seems improved from the 3G to the 3GS. The Ultimate Ears quality would definitely pick this up. In addition I have custom molds so these sit in my ear perfectly and very comfortable.

Based on the smoothness and the detail, I think Apple has reworked something in the audio section for the iPod. Seems like a real improvement. But had sole the 3G before I could compare.
