Just a little funny tidbit I wanted to share with you all. I was at my local bestbuy and looked at what open box items they had available. I got to the mp3 glass case and saw an iPod in the back that had no box, just in a plastic bag with the accessories and manual. As I looked really close I saw engraving on it! If my vision served me correctly it said this:

"To Evelyn, Love Mommy and Daddy."

Who the heck would buy an open box item like that. Let alone... why would BestBuy take that back because 1) thats basically physical, unsellable damage and 2) Apple only does engraving with iPods purchased through online.

I'm really starting to second guess BestBuy with their "open-box" items.

Sounds like Best Buy got duped..... so did Mommy and Daddy!

This really doesn't surprise me, most people at Best Buy would be oblivious to such details.

Sure does sound like Best Buy was duped on this one. I work for a camera store that "serial-izes" most any product of worth that comes in. From what I am told by Best buy they don't do this as a regular practice. S you end up with those that try and cheat the system. This sounds as if it is one of those cases.

I doubt Mommy and Daddy even bought the iPod at Best Buy. How'd they get the engraving done? Does someone else do that? Best Buy sure as heck doesn't. Thought Apple will engrave it before they ship it to you.

If it was cheap, I'd buy it and order a replacement back to it.

Thanks for better saying what I intended to say.
